The Plastic Odyssey ship reached Chennai, India, on March 1, 2025. A great opportunity for our local team to discover the project carried out by this expedition, during several significant events.

The opening event was held at the Alliance Française in Madras, marking the start of the stopover program. Our collaborators had the chance to meet the Plastic Odyssey team, explore innovative ship recycling technologies, and learn more about their global mission against plastic pollution.

On 6 March, the DELFINGEN Foundation organized a visit to the Plastic Odyssey ship for its customers and employees. An opportunity to learn more about sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics and to see firsthand how non-recyclable plastics are transformed into useful objects.

On March 8, Plastic Odyssey and the DELFINGEN Foundation organized a beach cleaning operation at Kovalam Beach near Chennai. Thanks to the mobilization of 55 volunteers and in partnership with Khabadiwala Connect, 386 kg of waste were collected, including 169 kg of recyclable and 217 kg of non-recyclable ones.

Thanks to the Plastic Odyssey teams and to our collaborators for their commitment!
